Kia ora, Greetings and Happy New Year from us at the Stokes Valley Community Centre. We hope the New Year saw you in joyously and safely.

The New Year saw me in on our Youth confidence camp up at Riverlea lodge up at Otaki working to entertain 14 other people! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we look forward to more camps throughout the year.

Christmas day for me was spent taking some folks to the Rimutaka Lions Christmas Lunch in Upper Hutt. Our thanks to the Rimutaka Lions, A Room at the Inn, and their friends and supporters for their wonderful annual Christmas day lunch. Well done People!

Our Youth Confidence Camp was a huge success and I'd like to take this oppurtunity to thank our funders and supporters.

• Big thanks to our funders: The Wellington Community Trust ($500) and The Stokes Valley Community Centre Inc who covered $2200.00.

• And finally to my friend and fellow community spirit Richard Noble from the Wellington Downtown city Mission who was our camp cook wizard. Thanks mate!

So with January almost over I've hit the ground running and we have many things in the pipeline or already begun.

What's on at our centre?

Our Internet connection is fully operational and available for you our public at $1 per half hour and $2 per hour during work hours. Tutorials are available by request.

Our Community Notice Board is available for non-profit organisations' flyers and, for a donation, commercial enterprises are welcome to place their flyers up - space permitting.

Our Youth Nites now happen every second Thursday by meeting up at our centre at 5.30pm and they go till 9.30pm. Contact me for more information.

Our Job Bank Board is available for jobseekers during work hours And assistance is available to do up your CV.

Don't forget we take your dates for your events for our community calendar and they need to be given to us as soon as possible.

We have started collecting goods and wares so please if you have anything to donate ring us and we'll organise to pick your stuff up! Our Pick up days are Monday and Friday afternoons.

STOKES VALLEY COMMUNITY HALL FRIDAY 15TH MARCH 2002
FROM 7PM TILL 10PM
There will be a limit of pre-sold tickets so be in quick!

Watch out for us about the place while we do a documentary on Youth life in Stokes Valley PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE!
