Local Boy Keeps Winning in Dating Competition

Last month we brought you the story about local boy Brendan Ritchie who put his name forward for the radio station dating game arranged by The Edge. His picture went on their web site along with 80 other hopefuls. 150 women also entered. Voting took place online to determine eight males and eight females who would win a cruise on a P & O liner to the Fijian Islands. During the cruise they will all date each other then vote on who was the best date. The cruise ended on 1 June with the "best date" wining $5000 (each for male and female).

Of course we never had any doubts, and Brendan won the best date competition. The winning Male and Female were announced on air on Tuesday 4 June, four days after arriving back from the cruise. Medi from New Plymouth won in the women's category. Both Medi and Brendan take away $5000 each. They will both continue to feature on the Edge again as the station uses them as prizes for their next competition, "Win a date with NZ's best date". Brendan has recently enjoyed a night on the town with a local date courtesy of the Edge.
