Burglaries:
The Valley had a total of five burglaries for the month of May. Two were committed during
daylight hours and three at night. The burglaries occurred in Glen Road, Speedy Street,
Holborn Drive and Manuka Street.
Although we had only two theft ex-cars for the month, I must mention not to leave
valuables in your car. The less property available for these thieves from your vehicle the
better.
Please be wary about persons knocking on your door asking for people you know are not
living there. Several reports have come through to my office about a male Maori, aged
between 16-20 years, knocking on doors in the Glen Rd area, and at the top of the valley,
asking for a friend's name.

Lost and Found
I have an expensive Canon Camera that has been handed in to the office and I still have
the religious music compact discs that were handed in. I am also still holding several
pairs of glasses.
Missing Pets
I would be interested to hear from any residents in the Horoeka Street area if your cat or
kitten has gone missing in the last month or so. I believe that several have, but this has
not actually been reported.
Boy Racers
I find it rather sad to have to mention to the residents of the Valley about this subject,
but it would appear that some of the idiots we have using their vehicles as racecars
around our streets are Valley residents. Several of these lads were dealt with in recent
weeks and some were found to live locally.
A hard line has been taken on those involved and they are to appear in the District Court
on driving charges.
Serious Note
It is rugby season once again, and YES, it has come around to the time where our intrepid
Presidents Red Rugby team once again takes on Trevor Mallard's Parliamentarian side.
As always, Mallard is giving nothing away as to who will field his side this year, but we
are expecting the usual sprinkling of ex-All Blacks who normally run onto the paddock.
The venue is Delaney Park on Thursday evening 20 June. We're hoping for a 7.00 p.m.
kickoff.
We are thinking about changing the name of this encounter to the Heineken Challenge (for
obvious reasons).
So please, put this date on your calendar and come down and support your local team. We
have had a fabulous response in past years. Last year and the year before, the likes of
Gary Whetton, Buck Anderson, Andy Hayden and Chris Laidlaw were very impressed at the
level of support from the community.
