Stokes Valley Library
March 2002

This is the library’s first column in this new and wonderful electronic newspaper. It’s really great to see good old Stokes Valley on the Net.

As a first column I’ll let you know what services are available at your local library:

Current News and Events

We had a tremendous lot of interest from the children of Stokes Valley in the Summer Reading Club this year. The winners of the prizes drawn for the special mission assignment were Chloe Stanton 1st and Denise Chow 2nd.

We have just introduced get-well bags as a new service. So if you have a sick child, contact the library and we will organise a bag of books, games and colouring in/activity sheets to keep them amused during their recovery period.

A reading club for adults has been mooted since last year. A meeting to discuss this will be held on Tuesday 19 March at 7pm. If you’re interested in finding out more about this, please come to this meeting in the library.

The New Zealand Post Children’s Book Festival will be held on 18 – 27 March. Look out for more information about finalists and events in the library.
